1. Setting up of Common Facility Centre (CFC) for Dyeing of Raw Material

  • A proposal for Setting up of Common Facility Centre (CFC) for dyeing of Silk &Woolen Yarn, in the Hank form, along with Pashmina Fabric, at a total cost of Rs. 2.39 Crores, under the relevant scheme was submitted to O/o Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) in October 2017 through Administrative Department for consideration/ approval.
  • The proposal was accorded in-principle approval by Project Approval and Monitoring Committee (PAMC) of Ministry of Textiles on 09-01-2019 but formal sanction has not been granted till date.
  • In the recent meeting on revival of carpet industry, it was decided that provision for funding of this project shall be kept under the revised Capex budget of Handicrafts and Handloom Department (Kashmir).
  • The Publicity and Promotion for GI certified carpets has just been undertaken. Under which, in the first instance, all the carpet weavers/manufacturers and exporters have been advised through different modes of communication to get themselves registered as Authorized Users with GI Registry, Chennai so that they become eligible for GI Certification of carpets at IICT.
  • The process of procurement of Plant and Machinery shall be initiated only after the approval/release of funds under Capex Budget of Handicrafts and Handloom, Department (Kashmir).
